I just replaced the clutch on my R with an Exedy Stage 2 clutch and the 9.5LB flywheel. I love it as a daily/weekend warrior. Kind of wish I went with maybe a 7LB flywheel though. Little did I know some Japanese guy had the OEM flywheel machined down to 10LBS so I was driving on a lightened flywheel already and had no problems.

how much boost does the car have? like whp wise?
if there's no turbo there's no reason to move past an exedy stage 1 which by the way is an excellent NA daily driver / autocross clutch. much higher quality design and material than their oem replacement

I think a stock R motor makes between 1-2PSI NA :p And there is a very big reason to go more than the Exedy Stage 1. Both hold the same torque load but the 3 puck clutch of the stage 2 can handle much more abuse. A full face disc is like butter driving, but after some practice I can make daily driving with the stage 2 shifting feel like a CVT transmission. Just gotta know how much the RPM's drop and to change gears right at the next gear up's RPM. I just love the grab of a puck clutch when you launch the car which is why I moved away from a street disc.

Chromoly is a type of steel. It's light and strong. Only trouble is the hardened steel can cause excess wear on your starter gear.

The Fidanza flywheel is 7lbs and made of aluminum. It has a steel friction surface (the part the clutch disc rides against) bolted to it, and a steel ring gear for the starter. Only risk is the multi-piece design could come apart.
