02 Civic Lx Yea a A/c question
Hey guys,
Well after searching the multiple A/c threads in this section and through google I haven't really found a solid question so I figured I would just ask. I recently just bought my civic and I was trying to use the A/c the other day. The problem is that it doesn't really get cold as it should. I mean I can feel it get sort of cool but not really cold. It feels like it is only 8-10 degrees cooler then the temp outside the car. The car is lowered and as a result the condenser is dinged a little, would this be affecting the temp? My friend suggested that I should get the a/c recharged, does that seem correct?
Thanks a appreciate it guys.
Also, did most of the threads in this section get deleted? I only see 2 pages

If the clutch is engaging, the fans are turning on, and you can feel the compressor engage when you turn the a/c on then yea, it probably needs to have the system evac'd and filled with new refrigerant.
My front end got hit by a huge block of ice and my condenser got pushed back a little bit. It hasnt affected my a/c by any means. I'd just go to your local mechanic and get them to check your coolant level because if you've overcharged your r134 system it will actually cause it to blow hotter air. It's not like the old r12 systems where you can keep adding til its antarctica in your car
