I have a 93 EG SI swapped with an LS-Vtec. B18b1 bottom end with Type R pistons, and JDM B16 head slightly milled with GSR cams, mild port and polish, LS tranny, RC310cc injectors. Engine barely broken in with 5,000 miles on it. Running on CHROME chipped p28 ecu with a standard Type R base map. Ran fine the first 3 months, then the last 3 months the tachometer started fluttering around all crazily and losing power. Gave the car a tune-up with new spark plugs, wires, even brand new distributor (i was assuming it's ignition related since it is affecting the Tachometer), but it still is cutting out under any moderate throttle. I've had to accelerate like a grandma to get it to not cut out on me (been commuting 25 miles to work like this for 3 months now). And recently (on a slightly warmer day of about 80 degrees), i went to leave work, and the car takes me about 15 feet and then sputters out and dies (felt like it ran out of gas). Idles fine, but as soon as i went 15 feet it sputtered out and died again. Then on a cooler day, I drove it a few blocks and it cut out only under moderate acceleration, but still babied it back home. What could be wrong if its affecting my tach and its not my distributor, spark plugs, wires, or TPS? Also, tachometer ESPECIALLY freaks out if for example I'm going a constant speed on the freeway and then let off the gas and coast for a couple seconds and then slightly press the gas pedal down just enough to maintain speed--the tachometer then will jump up to around 5 or 6 thousand RPMS and jump around above my actual RPM (which is truely about 2700 or so). Any ideas??
