Z6/s20 shift linkage help!
I was trying to get my old d15b out of my hatch, when I was trying to get the shift linkage off, the spring pin just WONT come out! Any tricks of the trade? Or just tap it out with something? I tried to use a screwdriver and tap it with a hammer but nothing. Help please!
Roll pin punch and a hammer. Jack the car as high as you can get chocks under it (safety first!), and whack it really hard.
Also, an air hammer works if you grind one of the pointy bits down so it's thin enough to actually push the pin out.
There's a reason the roll pin is called a "bitch pin" by many, it's a bitch to get out.

A punch and a hefty hammer is what most people use.
There is a tool to press it out. Much better than hammering the shift select rod. I cringe every time I have to do it that way.
