im having a bunch of issues getting these two to work. if possible i would like some help getting all these issues sorted one by one. ive read just about all the write ups on these programs and everything else you can think of but there are just a few issues that im running into that just arent covered and i have no idea how to fix. trial and error only goes so far.
first issue i would like help fixing is the "remove checksum routine" error i keep getting. i know that i have to run this plugin in crome in order to burn some .bin files but whenever i click the plugin to activate it i get the error
'window.external.rom' is null or not an object at line 126, column 2 near ''
exactly like that. im not sure how to fix this. according to microsoft i have to set the program to full permission. which i did with no success. any help please?

Honestly I have never seen that error before. Have you tried to completely uninstall Crome? Uninstall and remove any and all files related to it, then re-install it.

i just tried it on my desktop and didnt get the error. i think its an issue outside of the program. i went ahead and did the
remove checksum and quick datalogger+rtp on my desktop and burned the chip and then loaded it on my desktop. the 2 should still be loaded on the chip correct?

ok. it worked. so that problem is solved i guess. i just have to use the desktop to edit the files and then the laptop to burn them. no big deal i guess. i even got freelog to kind of work. the live data tab worked kind of but the tables weren't working. the box that has the column and row in it kept refreshing but the table stayed blank...

What tables, the Data Capture table for your fuel/AFRs?
What wideband are you using and how do you have it set up? Open tools/settings and click on the wideband tab. Change the "Minimum hits to display an O2 value on Fuel Table" from 15 to something lower. If you want to log idle and/or colder engine temps you may also have to change the minimum TPS % and minimum ECT numbers.
It is also a good thing to use the O2 shift box. Measure the diameter of your exhaust and the length of the pipe from the exhaust port on the cylinder head to your O2 sensor. Then find the volume of that pipe. Make sure to fill in the Engine volume at the bottom as well.

how do i get freelog to actually log. i can get it to connect and read all the engine parameters and everything else but when i click log nothing happens. isnt there supposed to be some sort of file created from the actual session?
IIRC it will automatically save the log file by default. I think you have to be compiling AFR data first though?????? I've only ever used Free log for one tune and I didn't have any issues with the auto saved log files with the wideband hooked up. It automatically saved the files to my C: drive.
In order for Crome to detect an RTP you have to physically have an Ostrich or Demon and a licensed version of Crome Pro or Crome Dealer. Free log is it's own datalogging software that runs completely separate from Crome. It also requires a data logging cable in order for it to work. Freelog doesn't have anything to do with Crome datalogging.

i must be doing something wrong. freelog works with the exception of creating a log file and the fact that i dont have my wideband hooked up. i managed to get a .csv file by clicking save fuel map captures. but now i dont know what to do with it.
but either way, freelog isnt creating any log files. and dont know what im doing wrong.

The .CSV file is the log that I used to tune. You open that in tools/replay click the load button and browse for most recent .csv file. Then press play and watch the log. It will show you all of the stored data. Not sure how much good it will do you without any logged AFRs though.
good luck!

good luck!run-time error '9':
subscript out of range
Can you attach 1 or 2 of your .csv files and I'll see if I can run them?
Click on the Manage Attachments button in the additional options window browse for 2 and then Upload the files.

I can't open it in Freelog ether. Scrip out of range error. However, If you have Microsoft Excel you can open it and see what the logged values are for TPS and per gear AFRs for your low and high cam profiles.
Looking at this file your AFRs are in the 10.5 - 11.5 range. That's a bit rich! However, you said that you don't have a wideband O2 hooked up, therefore I would say these are reading the narrow band voltage and not giving accurate readings.
If you open freelog and go into your settings pallet, select the connect tab. What do you have as a default directory for your captures files? Wherever that file location is directed to (default is your C:\ directory) that is where the freelog files that you can playback will be found. At least that is where I found the ones that I could playback.

thats odd. well someone on here just contacted me about selling me his crome pro license. im probably going to take it. but for the time being, that .csv is from my b16 crx. my integra is currently under construction and should be done soon. im just trying to get all the tuning software and everything else to work before its up and running. my aem eugo is gonna be hooked up on the integra.
but for my save directory, after i found out that nothing was being saved into the c:\ directory i changed it to somewhere else and still nothing. i looked at the file in excel and a lot of the information is just blank. why is that?
do you think i would have these kind of problems with crome pro?
with crome pro, since i can datalog with it, freelog will no longer be necessary correct?

What's the user name of the guy selling Crome Pro? Does it come with a machine specific reg string? Was he selling a Crome Reg string for $20? FYI if you don't give him your computer (machine ID) you can't run the reg string. The reg strings are created using your specific machine ID. I'd say it's probably a scam!
If you had a registered version of Crome Pro there are non of these issues, you still need a wideband to log proper AFR's though.
There are probably more than a few freelog files on your C:\ drive. There is no folder, it just drops them in there as a date/time file name. if you try and open the replay application and browse the C:\ directory you may be able to find them easier.
