looking for the best cams for my b16a turbo build ( for drag only ) im looking to try make close to 600hp . so what do ye reccomend or rule out ?
turbo is still not decided but prob go with a gt35r ?

o and i no 600hp is not much for you guys but hey its ireland im from and we are about 10yrs behind on boosted hondas so any help would be great.

 

skunk2 Pro1's will be the best bang for your buck for that power level...

Lots of people run them and they have great results, without breaking the bank..

 

was thinking that myself , did skunk do away with the turbo cams lots of people says they are using the tuner instead ?

gsr cams with that size turbo. what compression are you running?

 

I have skunk2 cams on my ls vtec turbo. I read a thread the other day saying itr cams are best though.

 

GSR cams if you have $50 to spend
ITR cams if you have $200 to spend
skunk2 cams if you have more than $200 to spend.

 

well i dont want to half do it so far i was happy goin for 400 odd hp but now changed my mind im goin to liner the b16a and reach bit higher .

 

I have run pro1s and web t1 special turbo cams but felt simular but i liked the web's and webs felt better, made about same power my .02

 

looks like ill try the skunk pro 1s and see how i get on .

Do you plan on doing some street driving with this or just track?

 

just track the car is not road legal anymore so just be out to race and back in the shed again .

 

I would recommend using a precision billet 6262 or 6265 with a a/r .82 turbine housing. Journal bearing or Dual Ball Bearing is up to you. Those will be perfect for 525-720ish. It would support more than 720whp but at that number you might be better off going with the Precision billet 6765 because of a much greater torque curve.

 

whats the most possible hp from b16a ? it will be tuned on a motec m84 and will be sleeved and fully built , im using eagle rods what are these good for ?

 

Im not sure they're is a limit if money is not a factor. I think eagle claims their rods to 600whp but im sure ppl have pushed past that. I am running Manley I-Beams.

 

I saw a dyno sheet from jeff evans tuning where a b16 made 800+hp, I heard of a b16 making 900hp. Precision 6262 would be a good turbo for 600whp.

 

yea im after lookin at a few threads here and id say the precision 6262 is looking good . so if i make 600hp and in a car that weights about 800 odd kg with me in it , hopefully ill get some good times , well as long as i head outside ireland.

so with pro1s and a precision 6262 now onto the intake .

would the victor x be good enough . i heard about a full-race intake before but never seen one myself anyone any info ? or the magnus ?

 

The VictorX is the best bang for the money. There are a bunch of nice manifolds but they very pricey, the victor x may be the best choice for you. I used the Skunk2 pro series intake manifold for my gsr last year and this year i have switched over to the VictorX. There are 800-1100whp cars out there running the VictorX manifold.

 

I'm running the tuner1s which are like ITRs but I've got a street car. If I had a GT35R (600hp) and it was mainly a drag car I'd go Pro1s. Just make sure you degree them before tuning. I hear those are really sensitive.

 

My car feals good with a stock GSR throttle body, Sk2 intake manifold, CTR cams, and a 6262. Keepin it simple with stock cam gears as well. Numbers in sig..

 

im using tuner2's and making great power. picked up 80hp across the board from switching gsrs to tuner2's

 

Like everyone else has been saying, Skunk2 Pro1's and a PTE 6262 or 6265.
