Default Finally in the 13's!!!

Ok I already posted this for the ITR guys to see, but I'm pretty happy about it and figured not everyone will see it there. If this is not proper and needs to be deleted that is fine.

From ITR forum:

Finally got it to the track with the new header. Track temp was 72 degrees.
60'.....2.055 ( SO-3 power baby)
1/8....8.910@79.65mph
1/4...13.837@99.23mph

Backed up by a 13.954@98.68mph
Let a friend drive the car and he also pulled a 13.908@99.68mph which was the best trap of the night.

So there you have it. A 13.8 1/4mi with a grand total of $440 bucks in performance mods.

With cold weather and some tuning I'm seeing mid 13's.

Hell of a nice time.

I have went threw a few sets of 195/50/15's this summer. For a street tire they hooked up real nice and were a great all around tire.

Mods: AEM CAI, no PS belt, JDM DC running open header. I run Bridgestone Potenza SO-3's which are an awesome high performance street tire designed for handling rather than drag. They have really stiff sidewalls which isn't good for drag but the low 220 treadware makes them pretty sticky for street tires.

Good times. Freakish really. I've only read of a few other people to run those times with those mods. Your tires must have a LOW traction rating for 2.0

So there you have it. A 13.8 1/4mi with a grand total of $440 bucks in performance mods.
Ok, then you say:

AEM CAI, no PS belt, JDM DC running open header. I run Bridgestone Potenza SO-3's
Hmm, last time I checked the header was at least $400, AEM was ~$200, and tires were at least (Guessing) $400. That's more like $1K+ in mods.

AEM was $200, the header was $240 ( I got it brand new from another ITR owner who had an extra one). Street tires are NOT a mod. They wear and have to be replaced. That's like saying gas is a mod. Besides I got the S0-3's for $350 shipped from tire rack which is WAY cheaper than replacing them with the stock RE010's. Those would have ran close to $550.

You broke into 13's but can't catch 100 mph traps.

Good job.

I was launching close to 7,000rpms or so. I usually launch between 5-7k depending on how the car is hooking up. I shift right before fuel cut (8,600rpms). I don't powershift but I supposedly shift extremely fast.

Not trying to knock on you, but how did you pull a 13sec time on so-3 tires. I spin them easy over 3k launches no matter the tire pressure. If I launched anywhere between 5-7K, I'd spin through 1,2,and 3rd gear. That equals a bad 1/4 mile time. Please fill me in w/ your magic...

13's in a FWD car would require insane whp or really good launches out of the hole. (i.g. slicks) or both. A good drivers couldn't walk so-3's out the hole launching at 5-7K. Just my 2 cents...
