Del Sol with poors mans type-r plus + moar...
just a quick question, im in the process of attempting to buy a del sol with the following done
US b18c1 block & rods
US b18c5 pistons
US 99 b16a1 head
skunk2 tb
aem fuel rail
AEBS IM
Megan racing header
full 2.25 tubes to a vibrant N1 muffler
chipped p28 0bd1
all mated to
99 b16a1 hydro tranny
with an excedy stg 2 clutch...
and dropped into a DEL SOL...
now im not stupid, i know this is fast, but i have never personally seen this build done first hand, everyone around here seems to wanna build boosted cars, so my question is this, A: what does all that add up to? rough guess at hp to the wheels, and B: just how fast is thing thing, is there anything you could compare it to, he says hes walked lightly modded WRXs and embarrassed GT mustangs and C: i have done some frankenstiens of my own in my day but never a poor mans type-r, should i worry about replacing the head studs as soon as i buy it, i have never, EVER built a franky let alone something like this with out using ARP head studs, im just too scared it will all come loose...

With the exception of the head stud inquiry this would probably be considered bench racing. Not allowed by the forum rules.
so then answer the question about the head studs and leave the rest alone... are you a mod? no? then zip it... if I have done something wrong let the mods handle it, not trying to start an argument I just cant stand pretentious people like you who feel the need to point out stuff like that and not just answer the question... if you dont have an answer dont say anything... thank you.
Dude. Calm down. Trying to warn you before you get your thread locked. If you're not boosted why would you need to replace studs?
Why is it that all noobs have an attitude!? I don't get it.
You shouldn't ''need'' to replace the headstuds. Stock will be just fine. ARP's wouldn't hurt anything, but I don't see why you would need them.
Has the car been dyno tuned?

I question the integrity of the build because everytime I have used a b16 head on a b18b I have replaced the head studs because frankys are known to rattle loose... Not sure how it was tuned but he has reciepts showing it was built at a honda dealership, so it cant be too hood lol...
edit: yes I know the difference in b18c1 and b18b builds, im just sayin...

Looking at your list, here's what i am thinking...
- you "don't" need an aem fuel rail, it will do nothing
- ITR pistons are ok, but B16 pistons will give even better compression
- Skunk2 TB? There are so many other throttle bodies for 1/2 the price that do "exactly" the same thing for half the price, you should shop around a bit
Oem head bolts don't just come loose. Most people use arp studs for boosted engines to hold the head to the block better under extreme conditions to help avoid a lifted gasket

weird...vibrant doesn't make an N1 muffler.
also the megan and 2.25 need to go.
and uhm bench racing. is a no. don't freak out. but learn how to read rules.
oh lastly. this is a gsr with a b16 head. if it makes you feel like you got a BA car call it im too poor for a real type R.
whats up with this?
": i have done some frankenstiens of my own in my day but never a poor mans type-r, should i worry about replacing the head studs as soon as i buy it, i have never, EVER built a franky let alone something like this with out using ARP head studs, im just too scared it will all come loose..."
you've done a few franks but never built one?
to answer the q if it has ARP it's fine. otherwise get some problem solved.
when you figure out what your doing come back.
