IACV wtf.
So im saying im pretty positive my iacv is bad, so i need to replace it.. ive been looking into them... like $250 from advanvrf or autozone... ive found oem used ones on ebay for around $100 and some brand name ones that are new and ive never heard of for like $175... so my question is.. what would yall do? where would you look into buying one? oem or no? does it matter? cause usually i try to stick with oem parts unless im trying to increase performance or something..

I heard aftermarket ones suck and also known people to buy used ones for them to either be bad when they get it or go bad shortly after. I'd just spend a little extra and get a OEM one, at least you'll know it'll last as long as your old one did which is pretty long considering the age of the car.
Have you tried cleaning it yet? When I took mine out a couple years ago, I didn't see anything on it that could malfunction really. I just soaked mine in carb cleaner or whatever I had and brushed the mesh screen the best I could. Reinstalled and it was perfect after that.
If I had to choose, I would find someone selling a complete intake manifold for cheap and do the IACV as well as the EGR ports all at once off the car.

of course i cleaned it... but since i really didnt soak it in carb cleaner the first time, i took it out last night and did it over so hopefully maybe it works but... in case i wanna know who replaced theirs and what they went with and blahzay blah.
