my 91 crx idled at normal rpm's then dropped down and got rough. It has been doing this for a week or two. Then it shut off completely. It was not getting fuel. It would start and run briefly if I put gas in throttle body/ carb. I removed fuel line from inlet side of fuel filter and got some fuel with key in first position. I then reattached and removed line at inlet of carb. I got a small amount of fuel and then it stopped completely with key still on. I went back to inlet side of filter and had NO fuel with key on. Could this be fuel pump? Or is their something else I could look for? Thanks for any input or help.

 

Check your fuel pump and fuel filter. That's probably the problem.

Hey im new to the HT forums and im having some of these issues so im posting here as well. So heres whats up. Sometimes when I start my crx and the engine is still cold ill get a "bad start" and the engine wont sound right and it will actually shake the car. I looked around these forums and thought it might be the main relay based on some of those symptoms but I went out yesterday and started it 8 times. Heard all 3 clicks every time. The engine runs like that only 1/30 times-ish and when i start going it will warm up and be fine. So heres the other symptom that points me at the fuel pump. While going down the road recently(last 3 weeks) the engine will sputter and then die. Gas pedal will be un responsive if i try to rev it if i catch it while its sputtering and I have to coast in neutral, and start it again and it will be fine for some random odd miles and do it again! one time it was twice in 2 miles! So I havnt driven it much since. Does this sound like a fuel pump problem?
