open your hood and take a pic of the engine. Post it up on HT. Your engine going to say dual point injection or multi port injection. If its multi port its a SI swap. Locate the engine code on the block either d15b2(Dx) or d16a6(Si). This is right below the head and next to the tranny. Does your car have a Check engine light on? The temp sensor is underneth the distributor. Check and see if its plugged up. Does the sunroof stop half way or open all the way up?

thanks for the info. i just solved 2 of the problems. i didnt know where the engine code was but i found it. its a d15b2. so i have a Dx. and i figured out my sunroof. there was a square piece of plastic shoved up in there to make it a tight seal and i pulled it out and it worked.

woah woah woah you can't tell what car you have by what motor is in it. what's your vin start off as? i HIGHLY doubt some one swapped in an entire si sun roof into your car.. if it indeed has a metal sunroof that's electric then you do in fact have an si. why people swap d15b2's into them is beyond me. pix?

The vin starts with 2HG. and the number stamped in the block says D15B7 and on the engine list it says thats from a 1992-1995 Civic DX/LX.

Well you got the roof and the 89 Si interior, idk why the previous owner would swap it to a lower end motor?

yea idk either but according to the numbers this engine only is a couple hps and lbs of torque shy of the si motor.
D15B7=102@5900 hp, 98@5000 torque
D16A6=108@6000 hp, 100@5000 torque

is there that much difference?

Most likely the first engine went, thus a B7 was dropped in. Put an A6 cam in the b7 head and swap in the si ecu and you should be the same. Nice clean car..

When browsing to load them up in HT from your computer left click on the image and some options will pop up one of them will say edit. Just click on it. Then at the top of the edit screen you will see either a resize button. Well it really depends on which version of windows your using. But anyways look for a resize option in the edit screen.

Clean Si.

It's definitely an Si...

Pretty common to swap in a d15 when the d16a6 kicks the bucket... easier to find and cheaper at times.

And hey, a sunroof swap isn't totally crazy. Feasible, but lots of work...

thanks man. and well right now im just tryin to get insurance on it cause i wanna drive it, but parents are hasslin me. gotta replace the windshield(cracked all to hell) and a couple of tires. after that i wanna make sure the motor and stuff is dependable, then i was thinkin some suspension upgrades. im new to the whole honda scene so im still learning, but im workin on a small budget so, it'll get stuff when money permits and such. im open to all and any suggestions? lol
anddd im on a mac but ill try that next time i put some pictures up

Canadian_EF= well i'd say its a real Si before i'd say someone put the sunroof in. its way to clean and factory lookin to even think someone did it. ya know?

and a question for anyone, will a windshield from [U][B]any[B][U] civic from like 88-91 fit in my hatch?

                  i dont think that is ever been repainted, you cant see it in the pics, but in person the paint is really oxidized and just like stained so. i'd say its original
