Default Should I fix up my 94 Accord?

I don't remember if I posted this up before, but I just wanted to get people oppinions on weither I should fix up my 94 Accord or just buy a new car like an IS 300 or something in the Luxury Sport category. I calculated what I would spend on fixing up my car and it is less than getting an IS 300, but is it worth it. My main goal would be to swap out the motor with a ATR H22 w/ LSD or may a 94 JDM H22 and turbo. I'm not looking for ridiculous power, just enough to keep me going with some of these newer cars that are coming out. Of course I'll have the usual rims and springs and possibly a body kit or maybe just paint the stock lips and skirts. I want ATR seats front and back, but that maybe asking for much and just some other stuff that I don't want to bore you guys with. And if I would buy a new car it would be nice stock and wouldn't want to do to much else. Well, just let me know what you think.....Thanks.

A turbo H22 would make you faster than just about anything from the factory short of a 911 turbo or Z06 (obviously depending on how much boost you run). All that money you spend on the horsepower, it will be negated by the big heavy rims and body kit.

if you have a 94 EX(f22b1 motor) just keep it and save the money getting an h22 and use it to fully build the block and head, and then get a turbo and you'll be pushing more than 350+ whp with bult internals. the f22b1 with its high road stroke ratio will make massive torque and that is what you need to move the 2900+ accord...your car will own almost anything on the streets.

If you have the money for H22 and turbo, then I would buy a new car unless you really really love your car. H22 and turbo will run you at least 12K to have it done right. If I had that much to spend I would go for a new car.

BTW, An H22 accord will rape an IS300 and I think they are overated. Go for a 6sp CL-S instead. Even an audi A4 or something would be better than a IS300.

actually a body kit should be lighter than the stock bumpers, and you can get decently light rims. Anyway I say yes you should fix it up. and do you know where you can get ATR seats? I won some on ebay but it didn't meet the reserve.

Those huge agressive bumpers and ground effects that hang down to almost scrape the ground are so light it makes the car want to take off like a plane. Just don't forget the huge wing otherwise you won't get enough lift.

This true but I think you will lose a lot more in say 3 years on a 94 accord w/h22 and turbo than if you bought a brand new IS300, Audi, or Acura CL-S. I think that's that point. Of course if you never sell it, you don't realize loss. Also if you do your own work then it's more of a hobbie than if you have a shop do it plus you'll save on labor charges.

I took off my bumper over the weekend to change my foglight bulbs (I have oem fogs). True the stock bumper has some weigh to it, but that's cause in the center behind the license plate is this thing that absorbs energy on impact or stiffens the bumper I assume. A fiberglass bumper in an accident will allow more damage to your car.

um, you really didnt prove a point in that statement, please explain in more understandable terms. i think toyota and lexus are the same company, so a toyota Altezza, then a Lexus IS300.. not toyota lexus.

I'm in the same boat as you...i fixed up my exterior first since the 94 style is kinda old school...anyways i think i might give up on the h22 and just get a new car. I sat in my friends 2003 accord and damn...its like luxury compared to what we got....and its only an accord....anyways look at the cars thats coming out...350z...rx8....they all look "new"....kinda hard to stay faithful to my 94 accord as I drool over these newer models...but it might be even harder to part with my 94...
