So my car recently blew a headgasket after just 3000km maximum.
We put in a new original Honda headgasket torqued it to spec. But never the less I believe we reused the headstuds.. Stupid yeh.. well

So Im gonna order a new headgasket, should I just get a new one from Honda? Or is there any other brand that I havnt heard of?

Its a h22a2 with 11.5:1 CR, skunk2 pro2 cams, eagle rods so on.

What do you think? Im defiantly gonna order the ARP headstuds though

oem honda or cometic

Is your motor tuned or did you just rebuild the motor with all those things you listed and started driving?

 

Ofcause not, its tuned with eCtune.. And thanks for your input think ima go with the honda gasket

 

I heard Cometic leaks which is why I returned the one I bought from a local performance shop then bought an OEM one from Honda. I recommend you use copper spray on the gasket before you install it just to ensure that it doesn't seep or anything.

 

I'v been using a cometic for 3-4 years now with no problems.
I would use an oem honda gasket but I have a 89mm bore and had to go with cometic.
Golden eagle is another option.

 

Thats good to hear; tons of other threads I read are complaints from Cometic users which made me to believe that mine will leak as well, so I returned it and went with OEM.

Think im gonna stick with the oem honda. I believe that it was my headstuds that failed because of being reused :/ too bad, nothing to do about it..

 

I just had GE build my block for turbo. They recommended the OEM headgasket or their gasket, which is the OEM Honda one that they machined to match to my block.

They have this head gasket on their site:

Stone/Ishino was told its the original equipment manufacturer for Honda. What do you think? Safe to buy if its the same as honda's
