Ordering lead online seems pretty pricy.
I'm in the same boat, I need to add a few hundred lbs to the front end, but spending 300 plus to do it online sucks.
My plan is to build detachable tanks that I want to melt and fill the insides with lead.

your saying it's cheaper to melt up wheel weights? anyone have any pictures of how they added weight up front? my car is a little underweight and want to add lead to the front to get it where it needs to be and help with traction.
Do a search for reclaimed shot. They usually sell used shot any where from $0.50 - $1.00 a pound depending on the quality. I am sure you can find a place close to you or that will ship it to you. The down side to shipping is usually they want you to freight ship a lot of it.
Here's a place as an example (middle of the page):

There's an industrial supply place local to me that sells bricks of it by the pound probably have a few hundred pounds of good quality lead for sale. Thats where i got mine from and melted it down into my weight bars. I could pick some up for you but i doubt shipping would be cheap.
beings most places will give you wheel weights for free (junkyards, tire shops, etc) just melt it into some round or square tubing, drill some holes through it, then bolt it up to the frame or traction bar
DO NOT PUT THE WEIGHTS IN THE BAR AND TRY TO MELT THEM... MELT THEM FIRST AND THEN POUR THEM IN
