Default Picking up an 85 Hatch

Whats up guys..

I was offered an 85 hatch for $400. It was taken care of extremely well, all it needs is a water pump and oil pan.. It's got 153k on it

I don't know **** about carb motors, so what exactly am I getting into, and when I get, what do you guys recommend doing to it? I mean, I know its nearly 30 years old, so should I flush the coolant system, change the oil and all that junk after I get it?

Pay for a smog test if you need one in NY.... so you do not have to pay another $500 to try to pass the smog test. I got the same year model for $300 and failed the test again after spending the $500 for a new cat.... which failed again....

The oil pan can be a headache as you may have to remove the exhaust manifold....

its pretty much rust free, it was well taken care of.. just some rust under the drivers side door..

we dont have to pass smog tests in ny, and the timing belt and water pump has to be replace so im planning on pulling the motor and cleaning up the bay a bit..

anything else?
