exhaust sspring and bolt...99 civic face towards cat, or forward muffler?
So...dropped my exhaust today....to change out a cat converter....and the downpipe part of the exhaust where the bolts and springs meet and tighten down, well, I was doing so many things today- I forgot how it goes back together....
I have the springs facing towards the exhaust...and tightened down as far as they go....
But..now its rattling like a tin can...so I supposed the springs are supposed to face towards the cat?

Only one of two ways to try it. You've already done it one way, now...
You sure that's what's causing the noise?

lol.....I ve been wrenching on cars for the last 12+ hours....and really have no interest in going back outside (at least tonight) to play with it...
Tomorrow Ill tackle it.... I was just curious if anyone knew for sure....
or if it matters at all.

According to the Helms man...... Its supposed to face the muffler....and the bolt faces the cat...
I guess I got to tighten em down some more now..........
