help bad cat exhaust muffler clogged .
okay so for months now i have noticed my car kind of sluggish. I knew my cat converter was bad because it rattled a little and it smells like gas now . Ive had this issue before so that why i thought that . so today i pull out an old cat from storage that i bought roughly 5 + years ago . i go to remove the cat and replace when i looked inside of it there was nothing in it . The element was completely gone . Now my thought process well if it gone where did it go i never heard anything come out . i removed my exhaust and instantly i hear a rattle in the muffler because there are a couple of big pieces of the cat stuck in there . I tried to shake that stuff out but no luck its kinda heavy cant keep doing it all day . I replaced everything with my stock cat and exhaust for now .
Im not too worried about the cat but what can i do to salvage my muffler its a full apexi wsII cat back that ive had roughly 2 years and bought brand new .After driving my car with the stock exhaust it really feel better then it did before today .

not much you can do except try and remove what you can from the muffler. is it a straight through design? if so nothing should be stuck their. if its an actual muffler with baffles and what not it may be impossible to remove without cutting and welding it back together. not sure if its really worth it.
sorry i cant be of more help.

buy a new one. dont know about ur area in seattle most muffler shop would normally cut and wield stuff for 80-100. maybe u go to some asian or mexican shop and do it for less. more hassle though.
