been searching and doing some research on an engine swap, and I wanted to see what the best guide you guys found was? specifically I will be doing a b18b into a 6th gen civic coupe dx. Was just looking for a guide that was well written/clear and contained lots of helpful pictures. thanks

Even though this has been covered a billion times, i'll touch on it, and make it simple in a general way........

"ALL" B series swaps into any 1996-2000 civic will require:

- 99-00 Si engine post mount, the rest are any 92-00 D or B mounts from a stock civic
- 99-00 Civic Si shift linkage or 94-00 Intrga
- B series tranny and axles 99-00 civic si/94-00 integra
- matching ecu for the engine being swapped, and if needed for an obdI ecu...a jumper harness
- 99-00 civic si rear tranny T bracket

 

As easy as that looked in the tute I wonder why sooooo many people seem to have problems doing this swap. With guides like this I think I'd even be able to pull one off. Even the wiring. No excuse for not getting one done properly.

Actually, everything you need know about swaps would be in the "Hybrid" section. The forums have been around longer than hybrid cars, so "Hybrid" was the term originally used for swapped cars......

It's the same as any other B-series swap, the only thing unique to a GS-R swap (you never said if it was an ITR or GS-R, just B18C) is the 2 wires for the IABs (secondary butterflies)
