Default 1995 Honda Accord Ex Exhuast

Thinking about getting some exhaust, I've done alot of searching and still cant come up with the best sizes and whatnot.

Its a 95 Accord Ex with the F22B1 in it, Should I do 2.25 inch piping or 2.5, and should i do 4.5 in tip or 4 in tip.

Note the car has been lowerd. Its about 6.5 in off the ground.

Also looking for a deep nice sound, I don't want no freaking fart cannon, or some exhaust that sounds like a pissed off bird in the engine....

oh.. haha sry its early for me ..

i have a 2000 honda acccord with its 2.5 inch piping and a 4 inch outlet and it sounds (what i think is nice) and not a high pitch and the drone is not all bad either.

but if you want that deep sound i have a friend who just made his own exhaust and used a magnaflow mufler and 2.5 inch piping and a cat delete and it sounds ok

Well the best size depends on what your goals are. If your going turbo a 2.5 ID pipe would be preferred to deal with the increase in exhaust flow. For just stock the 2.25 is adequate and the 2.5 wont give you much more power. If sound is your reason for exhaust upgrade find sound clips of whatever your looking for. I have apexi ws1 2.25 and I like it.

What kind of budget are you working with? If you want a great, deep sounding exhaust, and not loud.. I would look into the already mentioned Apexi WsII or my fav is the Rsr ExMag.. Those both come in 60mm piping= 2.36 in.. So its the best of both worlds, a little bigger than 2.25 and smaller than 2.5.. And I believe the resonator on the Apexi hangs kinda low (nothing too bad) so if your slammed, then its something to take into consideration.. GL

depends if your planning on keeping the cat and resonator?

my set up got 2.25 piping from the cat back with magnaflow muffler and it sounds alright but people say it would sound much cleaner if i kept resonator but it does restrict the flow so it debateable..

DEBATE TIME!!!

If the 'resonator' used is a glass pack with louvers that protrude into the exhaust flow, then yes it can hinder flow. A proper resonator will not impede flow, be it a glass pack like muffler with a perforated turbo muffler style tubing, or a well baffled unit such as a Ghetto Master.

I'm running 2.5" from my header collector to a 2.5" hi-flow cat then 2.5" piping out to my WS2 muffler. Best bang for the buck!

uh ohh lol

i believe it starts from the down pipe, you dont want a coke bottle effect, the stock honda resonator is 2' i think, mmaybe 1.75. if the op does want resonater and cat, suggestions wood be aftermarket deffinetly.

2 inch after header flaunge and keep consistent demensions

Yes, I say it's not too cheap, but it's the best setup I can do for my modifications of my engine setup.

I paid $240.00 for my WS2 muffler brand new, $170.00 for the 2.5" exhaust piping, IIRC, it's $260.00 to install my Hytech Replica Header and to fab it up to fit my exhaust system. But I plan on buying me a decent MIG welder, so I can start welding my own **** and not have to waste anymore money on ppl doing exhaust work on mine or my family's cars since I've taken welding class when I took Auto Tech class.

I went with the cheap way, I bought a High Flow N1 Catback System from ebay, 2.5 Piping with a 4in tip, Its Spec-D tuning.

I dont understand why spend so much on the other brands or whatever. But anyone looking for a beastly sound and not that "angry bird in the engine" sound, and wants something cheap but good for the money, then thats it.

Has a Low rumble at idle and sounds really great at WOT, Not to high and not a fart cannon. Bolted right up to the stock stuff and took me 3 hours to install. No problems.
Thanks for the input guys.

People spend more because they want a certain sound, their setup may require things ebay can't provide, and/or they don't want to take a risk on ebay parts that can have questionable quality.

If you say it sounds good, then that's great. Glad you are happy.

I, however, would be interested in hearing this exhaust, as I don't think I've heard a nice sounding ebay catback on a near-stock Honda.

If you ever have the opportunity to post a sound clip (I'd prefer one of you driving away, not the sit-and-rev bullcrap) I think we'd all like to take a listen.

I agree with you completely, Whats the best way to get a sound clip for you? My wife has an iPod touch would that be a good way? I'll have to see about how to do it so you can hear it. Getting videos "off" her iPod is the hard part lol.

You can get them off using the method in this post:

Then if you want, just upload it to photobucket and post it in this thread or in a PM. Whatever you are comfortable with.

It all depends on your budget...I bought a catback on ebay for $120 shipped and it worked fine for me....dyno tested and it made power it's a 2.25inch with a 4" tip with a removable silencer sounds pretty good also, fit perfectly only time will tell how it holds up. It's a little on the loud side but bearable. For me i couldnt justify spending so much for a name brand exhaust.
