rear passenger seatbelt leaks after rain!!!
hmm so.. basically im a newby to this forum, and i just trying to find some help/answers/solution to this issue i spotted today. I just bought a 2001 prelude and i took it home and had no plates or insurrance on it so i let it sit in my driveway for a few weeks, finally i got plates on the car and i took it for a drive today, it started to rain and wen i got back to my driveway i looked in the back and... nom nom nom... THE BACK PASSENGER SEAT BELT WAS LEAKING WATER!!
has anyone had this issue? anyone know if theres a quick fix? or any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!!
thanks!!

take of the panel that it right there i think your linking from the plastic hose that runs threw that area. iam not sure what that hose does but i was leaking water in my back seat one time so i took it all apart. i found those little hose ,but mine was good. thats the only thing i can think could leak right there. mine was leaking at my left tail light...filled my trunk up at the bottom where my spare goes. and when i would stop the water would come into the cab where my back seats are thats how much i had got in there over the period of back to back rain we got one time! i found it when i was installing nitrous in my car i was so mad lol
holy crap.. that much water?! i should really get this looked at
i read a few thinggs on google and it could be the sunroof drain tubes that got clogged up and the water has no place to go, but into my interrior!
i just hope it stops raining until i get this issue resolved lol if anyone else has any ideas or solutions please feel free. thanks!

hmm and now im starting to think... could the sunroof really leak that much water?
i mean... the seat belt wasnt just a few drips, it was constantly dribbing, i put a towel there and checked it a half hour later, and the towel got pritty wet... now im even more concerned about this

well all you can really do is pull all the interior panels off, sit in your car and have some one spray your car with a water hose. that is how i found mine you will be ok man your just gonna have a nasty wet smell for a while until you get it all eared out but it can be worse then mine lol. almost my whole spare tire was under water and that leaked into the cab in the back. witch soaked the rear seats. let me no what you find

It's more than likely the sunroof drain, tubes run down both sides to the rear and if they are clogged up water will sit in there with no where to go but either leak from the joint at the sunroof or spill over the tray onto the headliner. Pull the rear seats then the panels around the corner glass, pry gently so you don't break them, they just snap in.
My 01 used to do the same thing.. People would get in my backseat and be like "wtf layla, it's soaked." I had never noticed it considering I never sit back there
I always thought it was odd because it was only the back passenger seat. I armoral my vinyl inside every few days, and could never spot any leaking trails from any panels. I think if it was the sunroof, the floorboard would be wet, and you would be able to see water on your console cover. Anyways, I put a new system in my car about a month ago (had to take the back seats down) and I haven't noticed it since. So I'm not sure if I just knocked something back into place or what. But I assume it must be common if people with 5th gens have the same issue. Good luck!

It's your drain tubes. As previously stated - to access them, you will need to remove the interior trim pieces in the back (headliner included). Then check the tube for any cracks or holes. Alot of 'luders will shoot air down the tubes to clean them, but I would be careful doing so since you don't want to blow the tubes off the entrance and exit connectors.

hmmm so i took apart my interior panel (where the leak was coming from) and i took a bucket of water and started pouring it all over my car, i located the leak
it was a small crack under the weather stripping and it leaked directly into the hole right above the drain tubes, i just used some silicone to seal it off for now, untill i get it properly sealed off, seems to be working for now. but lastnights rain and i read about the trunk leaking into the spare tire area,,, i did notice a bit of water in my spare tire spot
now i gotta find out where that is leaking from
its one thing after another

check the tail light gaskets and see how those look, if those need to be replaced the part number for them is 33503-S30-003 they're about $12 a piece from the dealer or you can try making your own.
lol i just put a thick layer of instant gasket around mine worked but, i would not recommend it i just did it because i will be getting some new tail lights soon.
