possible bad block? (see *large* pictures)
I just purchased a GSR block and noticed some cuts on the block and wanted to know if it would cause any issues later and other opinions.
Thanks all
P.S. I'm still looking for a machine shop for hondas in RTP, NC to actually inspect it. Anyone know of a reputable one?

Thanks all

first: please resize the pictures. the only way to actually look at them when they are that big is to download them and zoom out.... kind of a pain in the dick
ANYWAY i would not use a block in that condition. the damage by the hole for the oil pump isn't that bad, but the damage to the sleeve would bother the hell out of me. plus i don't know what was going on with the cut up webbing but it doesnt look anywhere near strong. i'm sure someone will say its fine and it might actually be, but i would never use that block.

Sorry about the large pics before...
So, #2 I guess this is just the imperfections in the block or a seam or whatever its called.
#4 might have been the UPS man or something.
but #1 and #3 looked suspect.
Thanks for taking a look at it!

So I contacted the seller and he said "The notch in the front is for a turbo clearances" which after searching seems like a common thing.
He also claims the rest was from the carrier, which could be possible except for the cut near the PCV (i think that's what it's called, the black box) and where it looks like someone tried to remove the block guard with a screwdriver.
Other than possible structural integrity issues and fuglyness, is there any other problems I could run into with this block?
Thanks HT gurus!
