Default NOS for the lude....

I was going to go Turbo for my lude, but changed my mind and decided to go NOS cuz im low on budget...can someone help me and tell me what i would have to do to shoot a decent amount of NOS, like 75-100? wat kind of engine work would i have to do to reinforce it? someone hook me up with a list?

Just get an ignition, bigger fuel pump (holley, walbro, whatever), possibly a fuel pressure regulator, and to play it safe, one step colder spark plugs. That's good to go for a 75, possibly a little more. Just make sure you do it right, and your H22 will handle it fine. I've even heard of some pushing the limits with a 100shot with a stock motor, but that's not recommended. That setup will do just fine though, for a 75shot Hope that helps man.

BTW: You should be pulling in some times in the 13 second area with that cheap, but safe setup. My buddy in a 00 Civic Si ran a 75 shot with a CAI, FPR and colder plugs--the rest was stock. He was beating high 13sec 2002 WRXs

At the time, they were stock---the WRXs are now just a 10th away from 12s
Edit: My friend with the Civic is a very exceptional driver too, makes a difference between hitting 13s and staying in the 14s with that large of a shot.

Since your talking about 75+ above you should definatly go with either a Direct Port kit or get a Plate kit out of NOS.

As for fuel, I'd go all out if your going to be thinking about 100 shot. I'd do:

SX1000 Fuel Pump
AEM FPR
VAFC
RC 350-270cc injectors

Perhaps run a fuel cell to fill up with 120 octane for when you spray 100 or above. But then you've got the hassel of running 2 fuel sytems. But it is really nice when it's done.

Yeah, my bad dude, I was trying to remember when they raced like over a year ago, lol. He had just gotten the WRX a few months before and it was stock. He didn't see much gain with the intake, but was running 14.3s or so by the end of the night--so the civic was probably more like 14.0 range. I was thinking of his times after an uppipe, boost controller, intake, and exhaust.

Edit: I had the times screwed up in my head (stock vs. what he runs now) I'm easily confused...you're right I'm wrong, lol

SX1000 Fuel Pump
AEM FPR
VAFC
RC 350-270cc injectors
You can run a 100 shot on pump gas with thecorrect ignition retard. there is no reason that you would need to upgrade the injectors if you were running a direct port kit, the nitrous kit compensates with extra fuel through the foggers.

For a 100 shot I would get a JNMM
upgraded nitrous solenoid seals
MSD 6A
NGK-BKR7Es
Fuel pump
fpr
VAFC
purge kit
bottle heater
new clutch
extra solenoid to back up the progressive controller
and some good dyno tuning.

ludester, shut up until you know what you are talking about.

For a 75 shot I'd go with a custom single fogger NOS kit or an NX kit.
NGK-BKR7Es
Clutch
VAFC
You may or may not need an ignition and JNMM

Nitrous Oxide Systems is weaksauce. If you truly want a simple nitrous kit that does not require $2500 in add ons just get a zex kit. A retarded monkey on herion can install it and it is the most reliable kit on the market.

you're saying that it's a better kit because it's easier to install?

I've already argued with him about it. The only way to win is to wait for that little purple box to go to ****. Then, when he has to buy a whole new barney box you can rub int he fact that NOS noids are rebuildable for $40.

did you read my post?? Did you see all the **** that kris just listed to optimize the performance on his NOS kit? Different strokes for different folks, maybe some people want a cheap, effecient, reliable nitrous kit. If he wants a ***** out system, then he has his shopping to do.

yeah, i guess my car is a ticking time bomb running that unreliable zex kit.

He said he wanted to run a 100 shot. It doesn't matter if he runs Zex, TNT, NOS, or NX. He is still going to need all of the ish that I mentioned to run nitrous properly. If he just wanted a 50 shot, then he could toss on a NX single fogger kit, plugs, and a purge kit and call it a day. BTW, I never said Zex kits were unreliable, because they aren't. However if you put a progresive controller on a zex kit you are going to cash the noid in that barney box out so quickly that it will make your head spin. For small shots Zex is fine, but the kit doesn't cut it with large shots.
Ludester, I thought I asked you to hush unless you knew what you were talking about. Not all of us want to go fast in the twisties y0! I don't tell people that turbo's are **** or that NA is a waste of money, so show a little class and keep your misinformed opinions to yourself.

Yes you can. The NX single fogger kit tends to give some of the best gains. Zex or NOS dry kits are the simplest to install however.

Jesus, a zex kit nowadays can be had for like 499 new. They are the Gen2 kits that learn your TPS curve and shoot nitrous accordingly or some **** like that. Can always risk the ebay thing. Check http://www.groupbuycenter.com

MAKE GODDAMN SURE YOU GET A PURGE!!!

Bottle heaters are key also, the ZEX one is the easiest by far to hook up.

its cake dude. Simple wire splicing, you have to drill holes in the trunk to mount the bottle, take your time and double check everything you will have no troubles.
