Thanks for the info everyone, that's the second time I've heard that P2T SI ECU does not have an Immobilizer, so I'm guessing my buddy was just mistaken maybe.

Iv'e also heard about using the P28 chipped and using an OBD1 harness as well, so I appreciate your guys info.

I will leave this thread open for a bit just to get some more responses, not taking away anything from the responses Iv'e gotten so far, but just to get some more input. Thanks again guys.

And just for clarification, the ECU in question is: 37820-P2T-A11 1170-103359

Just convert to obd1 so you won't have to later on, if you plan to get tuned for anything.

You're using a obd2b Gsr ecu, the p2t should work no problem. Have you tried it?

The P30 is the correct ECU for that motor, but if you already have the OBD2B jumper, you can run the P2T no problem.

Haven't tried any of the ECU's yet, and yes I already have the OBD2B Jumper harness.

What are the tuning benefits if I convert to OBD1, rather than staying or going with OBD2B? Why would I want to stay away from OBD2B?

Right now all I have is basic bolt-on's (IM, TB, Exhaust, Header, Intake).

Thanks again for the repsonses, I'm actually learning something.

less sensors for obd1, staying with obd2a will just get it to pass inspection lol,
