So Honda does not sell the eld for the older civics and I need to replace mine as I am almost positive it is. So I buy a suggested eld for the crv 38255-s5a-003 and the prong looks the same but it's obviously smaller and will not fit as snug so I figure I would ask first before installing. Will it work or should I be looking for a used fuse box for my car?

post your findings. looks like you already bought it so install it and let us know if it works, i need to retrofit one in my civic, ecu is looking for it and i dont have one it would be really nice to finally get rid of the CEL.

 

I had it apart yesterday waiting for someone to chime in on this. I just put it back and will be checking it out on neptune to see if I can disable it from there till I get a used fuse box which I can snag a ELD from. I was working on my other car yesterday too so it was another reason why I didnt just want to install the crv one and play.
