Default The Unfixable accord

Hey I got a 1998 honda accord ex, I put new motor in and the car still wouldn't work, then I was told that it need a Throttle position sensor, and a starter which I got. The car started but won't build up speed and now I' m being told it could be the alternator because when i turn the car on it cranks but once I put it in gear park/reverse it shuts off I checked the fuel pump that works and i am at a loss as to what it could be anybody got any ideas?

Have you checked the main relay?

"it could be" is a sign you need to find another mechanic.

Remove the Alternator, take to local autoparts store (call ahead and make sure they have tester and it is working) have it tested. this will eliminate one possible cause. Replace if needed.

Is the Battery dead? Or is the car cranking and not starting?

Did you accidently swap the TPS connector with the MAP connector? The car will barely idle, set not DTC's and stumble and die upon acceleration.

The battery is not dead and it is cranking now that the starter has been replaced, the alternator was tested and it is no good, the car still dies when put in gear park/reverse also I checked for the main relay, there is just a bunch of wires hanging from the bottom of the car, could that be it?

I'm going to go with, most likely. Get those hanging wires reattached or fixed.
