Default intermittent a/c -heat issue 03ex

I just purchased an 03ex 5mt with 156k last week. I had the timing belt/water pump service done on tuesday as it was the 1st time it was performed.

I drove the car for only a couple days before the service and the a/c worked well.

When i picked the car up and was driving home, the a/c slowly was getting warm and eventually blew hot air.
When at home i checked the fuse and also made sure the compressor was not kicking on.
I couldn't locate the fuse for the compressor and the compressor was not engaged.

Yesterday i drove the car and the a/c worked on and off. It would work for 7-10 minutes and then it wouldn't. I shut it off as i was driving and then turned it back on a couple minutes later and it worked. This happened a couple times.

At first i thought that somehow they may have disconnected something and that a bump in the road loosened a plug so the ac wouldn't work. but, this morning it was chilly and i didn't have a jacket on so i turned on the heat and i got just cool air, and yes the car was warmed up.

So, i am thinking this wasn't something that occurred at the dealer since the heat was also affected too.

Is it possible that the hvac control on the dash is broke? I think i had this issues many years ago on another vehicle, but can't remember.

Any suggestions?

Definitely sounds like they left something unplugged. Take it back and tell them to fix it right as it was working fine before you took it to them. Being a dealer you're probably SOL with that but, they may not be like the other dealers.

I installed new compressor, dryer, and expansion block on my 03 ex. Drove 3 hour trip this weekend. After about one hour the fan seemed to slow down and the air started getting warmer. Shut off the air for awhile, and when I turned it back on it was cold and blowing fine again.
It acts as if the evaporater is icing up or something.
Sounds kinda the same. Did you find out what was causing it?

I haven't figured out the issue yet, but i'll check that thread.

There is no ryme or reason when it stops working. When the compressor is working it blows really cold air.

Someone did mention that it could be a relay that is bad.

thanks, i looked several times and somehow didn't see it. I'll check the price of the relay, hopefully it's not too expensive.

Or, i'll swap it with one of the other relays that look similar and see what happens.

I swapped it with the horn one since the numbers all looked the same on the relays. The a/c was cold the entire way to work this morning as it was 70 degrees and humid. The real test will be after work when it's 95 and humid.

since it's not a relay issue, expansion valve was mentioned also.

I am starting to notice a pattern. When the engine temp goes up, the a/c goes off. I just had a t/b-w/p done.

I wonder if i have an air bubble?
