Just how much should a tune cost?
I have a complete Neptune RTP setup in and running and will be putting my Pro 1's back in.
I obviously only need the tuning itself done. I have one shop telling me $450 for 2 hours. I talked to a guy there before I bought Neptune and he said they use ECTune and the $450 included the license for it. Now this guy is telling me the same price and ignoring my comments/questions about what I was told before and the fact I have everything. Needless to say, I don't trust going there anymore.
So... now while I look around for other shops, just what is the fair going rate for a tune?

$400-500 for a dyno tune is about going rate including dyno time.
Pricing is going to depend on the setup details etc.
Look up local tuners in your area on hrtuning.com, ectune.com and hondata.com

who still uses ECTune in Houston? Have you thought about tuning the car yourself? If you have a wideband you can give it a good street tune and then finish it off on the dyno at a local shop.
If you are near beltway 8 and 290 my friend Huy has a shop with a dyno near that intersection called Inline Racing. Huy is one of the best at tuning. If you were in Beaumont area I'd say to bring it my way, but it's probably one heck of a drive.

we charge $150 for full street tuning on mild mod N/A cars and $220 for turbo cars/ hi-mod N/A setups. Add $200 for 2hours of dyno time, $80 per additional map (race fuel/N20/etc)

I've read about Huy, but didn't know if he was still going at it. His website is dead and I couldn't find any other info. I'm actually in Clear Lake, but I will get a hold of him. I've heard the best things about him and St00pid, but I dunno where Jason is anymore.
I got the RTP to tune it myself, which I can do and like. But I still want the final word from someone experienced on these bigger cams and the ignition tuning done.
From what I've seen the Pro 1's are typically best at their degreed in setting.
Beaumont might not be out of the question, but it would be a while. NASA is (i think) going to be running the new track in NO in December.
