Default inconsistent bearing clearance measurements

I am measuring the inside and outside diameters for the main journal bearings, but am concerned because my measurements are inconsistent. I can measure in one spot and get a reading that is significantly different from another area on the same journal. How much can the measurements differ before worrying about needing to have the crank or caps machined or replaced? Thanks!

Bump! I don't have a super reputable machine shop that I can ask, and I still need this question answered. How much deviation on the main journals is allowed before they are considered to be out of round? And for the rod journals? Thanks!

usually .0002" out of round is the limit.

alright, thanks. Mine are more like .002+ OOR. I don't know how they got so bad. I haven't had any problems with the bearings, but I'll get it honed to be safe.
