most of us try to get rid of our d15b2 and go to obd1 newer engines right? well a Honda mechanic I know just bought an 88 sedan DX with 115,000 miles on it and wants to put the engine in an EG sedan. hes not familiar withe engine swaps in my opinion and actually told me he might need my advice on some engine swap or something someday cause he noticed the b swap in my civic. Im hoping I can make a deal and pull the engine for him to save him time, so he can make money off inspecting vehicles, in exchange for the sedan shell. now my question is how would you even swap these engines? I mean obviously you would just drop the engine and and hook up all the sensors but what ecu would you use? also what would you do about the fact that the 88 would be a dual point setup? and would you use the Eg engine harness? would you just use on auxiliary and one main injector plug and let the other two there? how would the ecu react to this? answers would be appreciated

low mileage engine. second thats wrong because I actually replaced all of my plugs on my obd0 harness with obd1 plugs to make the harness look cleaner. most of the plugs are the same except you might have to switch a few wires around if youre running it obd0
Basically just do the opposite for what you would do if you were swapping the EG engine into the sedan.
Swap intake manifold, exhaust manifold, and distributor from the EG's original engine and keep the same stock EG ECU.
If you were going to use the DPFI intake then you are in for an electrical mess.
You will have to use the 88's DPFI ECU which means you have to convert the OBD1 wiring of the EG to OBD0 -and- MPFI to DPFI -and- make your own ECU OBD1toOBD0 jumper harness or cut the EGs harness and replace with OBD0 ECU plugs..
What a freaking waste.

Even if he doesn't, it would cost cheap to get another one... far cheaper than all the work to convert from OBD1 to OBD0.
He could even get one from a Y8.
Distributor would be the most expensive part at maybe $50 used.

What is so hard about this? If he is a "honda mechanic" then this is a dead simple issue. Drop the long block in,reuse the dizzy, cam and cam gear, intake and exhaust that came originally on the EG. Harness will work fine, only change should be is extending the leads from the temp sender on the back of the block. The only issue will be the ecu. If the shell is a CX or DX then the stock ecu will be fine.
to swap a d15b2 into an eg you'll need to:
-re use the eg's intake manifold with all sensors, injectors, etc.
-re use the eg's obd1 distributor
-either re use the eg header or install a 4 wire o2 sensor into the b2 header
-re use the eg's thermostat housing (for ease of swap).
-re use the eg's hydraulic trans or obd1 auto trans
-re use eg's drivers side motor mount AND the part that bolts the mount to the block
everything bolts up the same other than that.
i say use the thermostat housing for two reasons, easier to replace that fan switch, and you don't have to extend any wires
