Default 02 Accord 4cyl timing belt help

Car has almost 106k and needs the timing belt and water pump changed for the first time. I know I am going to need 2 belts, the water pump, valve cover gasket. Is there anything else that I need to replace and can anyone point me to some directions for this? I already have the Haynes manual, but additional help would be appreciated. Is it worth going with Honda belts or will Gates belts be fine since they make Honda's anyways? Also, should I go with Honda water pump or is there another brand that will do the job? Thanks.

Once again, so much help from Honbeer....ps, that would be seal not seals on the cam shaft.

To the OP...Gates make a fine product IMO. I would also check into the Crankshaft seal....not good with the '02's but on the older gen's there was a balance shat and oil pump o-ring.

they are nearly identical from '90-'02 the major difference being a few added sensors and the chassis it's bolted to.. .

OP: please check the FAQ page first before posting. most of your info can be found here. also if you plan to keep the car for a few years and will be doing your own work, do yourself a favor and buy a Helms factory service manual.

Also, Gates makes Honda OEM belts. These belts can be purchased at RockAuto.com for a fraction of the cost than what Honda charges.

I mentioned this in my first post, but thanks for the website as I typically get parts from autopartswharehouse.

How does the Helms differ than the Haynes manual? Already have the Haynes so just wondering if it is worth buying another one.

Helms is more detailed and descriptive. its the one the guys at the dealership use. it costs twice as much or more because its worth it.
