Default cooling problem

I have a 93 honda civic dx that has a cooling problem. I just replaced the water pump, thermostat and cooling fan relay. I'm guessing i have a blown head gasket but I just want to be sure. I'm going through a jug of fluid in about a week. I have no puddles under my car. After driving for a bit it will sometimes start to sound like my car is under water and doesn't want to go anywhere. There have been cases where I have come home and left again and when i'm backing out of my driveway I can smell fluid and sometimes gas. My temp gauge reads normal until of course there isent enough fluid in the radiator. When I had my water pump replaced the guys at the shop for some reason put dex a cool back in. I have heard different things about using it. Some say it is ok and some say its not. My radiator hoses get hard as a rock and when I was getting my emissions done my top hose blew. So please my little 300 dollar car needs all the help I can get.

Why would they put dexcool in it? This should never mix with the green stuff or it'll turn to sludge. I would take it back and have them repair for free or get a lawyer.

my uncle put the dex in he made sure to flush the whole system before putting it in there. Thats the first thing i checked for when i saw him putting dex in i was like what the hell are you doing. He told me that it works the same just last longer and that he made sure to flush the whole system before putting it in. but either way im still going through a jug of fluid a week
