Default Thinking about a Accord for My DD

So currently I have a 06 Evo as my fun car and a Acura Integra as a project track car. Thinking about a Auto 4 door or wagon if I can find one Accord for a DD. My current DD a 07 Cummins Truck needs to go away so the extra cash can pay for the wifes school.

So what should I look out for in a 100K+ mile sub $5K accord. Like I said I want an auto not sure if I need the V6 or if it will be more issues. I will have AC and be used as a DD/car to take on road trips.

Whats the need to know here thanks..

The V6 in the 5th gens are slow (enough to make you wonder why they even offered it) and the automatics for the V6 6th gens are typically time bombs.

I'd look for a 4 cylinder. The better gas mileage and easier maintenance will be a plus too.

The Accord is a great car. I personally have a 96 Ex sedan with 220k on the clock and chassis. Not sure about other generations before mine. However, as Bwill said, 2000-2002 4 cylinders have poor transmissions. The engines are ok, feels under powered compared to my 96. Honda did a recall on the transmissions. Good Luck.

Just for clarity I actually meant the V6 automatics in the 6th gens (I adjusted my post as well).

Though I will say I agree with you that the automatic for the 4 banger could certainly use improvement as well.
