Default B series block choice!

whats up honda-tech, im new to this so sorry if i making a mistake, anyways i was woundering if some one can give me some hints about some B series block. I just droped of a b18b block that i built with CTR pistons at the shop, the guy said my block is most likly not gona be to good because i quess i messed up the piston wall pretty good, long story short im confused on what can be the most reliable/best set up i can do with high compression pistons. my choices are go with a b18b block again! or get a b18c1 or a b20 block? any info i would appreciate

It really kinda depends on what your gonna do with it, running high comp it really isnt gonna make too much of a difference with the black itself. Its the internals that really are gonna make a difference, But that being said the b20 is great for all motor due to a bit more torque available due to its size.

what head do you have? A nice, easy, 'craigslist' build that would make a very fun & comfortable daily driver...is a b18c1 block, p30 pistons, b16 head w/ bigger cams & valvetrain. That would net 11.3:1 comp w/ oem head gasket and 11.6:1 w/ a 2 layer gasket. While building it if you addressed arp rod bolts, arp head studs, and rod bearings, you could beat on it all day and be making 200whp. Cheap and effective

Depends on what you put inside em, if you want a reliable build you need rods and pistons anyway, spring for somethign after market, make sure you use good rod bolts (apr) and a good oil pump and you should be fine. Your not boosting it to the moon so you should be good for 200-220 whp with that set up very reliably

i have arp head studs and i do plan on picking up some arp rod bolts. its not going to be a daily car but something i can drive in the streets on nice days specially up here in MA which theres not to many >. Question all b20 blocks are obd2 correct? and if they are that means i have to buy a obd2 harnest?

Most are obd2 but the obd1 harness and ecu should work just fine. The VTEC is the only thing that you may have to look in to.....It depends on what your putting it in on whether or not youll need to wire anything up

Depending on where you live you might be able to find an Importer, I got mine from a company in Orlando Fl for $550, but I could pick it up. Its a JDM B20 but there no difference really. They are common
