Icon2 Axle Size?

So I'm trying to replace my 1997 Honda Civic Driver side Axle , But I've been told that the left axle is different then the right axle supposebly it is longer then the right. There is two diffent sizes in lenght 35 9/16" and 35 13/16" they both have the same spline count Outboard: 26 Inboard: 25 which one will be best?? I mean not a lot of difference or should i take out the old one and measure it?

I don't understand the question. Why don't you just get a direct replacement for the axle in question?

Thats what im tyring to do but the guy at the Autoparts told me that there was two diffent axles one a bit longer then the other one and that I probably needed to take out the old axle and measure it to make sure I get the right one...but I just wanted to see if someone here has replace their axle before and what was the lenght of their axle that they bought apparently there is a 35 13/16" or a 35 9/16" !
