Alternator cut off switch
Specs:
88 4-door
d16z6 swap, obd1, p28
obd1 alternator
I do a lot of drag racing/autocross and I'd like to be able to switch off the alternator when I race to reduce load on the motor. How do I do this?
There are 2 wires coming from the ECU related to the alternator.
A-16 is alternator control
D-9 is alternator FR charge signal
Which one of those (if either) would I tap into if I wanted to disable the alternator?
If neither of those things will do it, then how to I accomplish what I am trying to do?

People that hypermill do this all the time, but I can't seem to find what wire they do it on with a Honda. It's the 'field' wire you want to put the switch on.
From this diagram, it seems like D-9 is labeled "F" and A-16 is "C"

With the car running, disconnect your pos+ cable from the battery.
With a properly wired alternator, the car will continue to run and you will read about 14v on the battery terminals.
Without the alternator working properly, the car will instantly turn off.

the alternator cycles anyhow.
i autox my car, i don't know if I would shut off the alternator to do my runs.
we ran our lemons car, unbeknownst to us, with a bad kill switch, that basically was loosing power from the alternator to the battery. we fixed that kill switch, and the extra voltage from the alternator, make our car much faster. the low voltage from the battery gave us a bad spark, and we were down on power.. it got so low on power, that at one point the car sputtered, and was backfiring, it was as if the dizzy had gone bad. or if on a car w/ coilpacks, if we dropped one.
