Pulley bolt WILL NOT BUDGE!
Im so pissed at this thing, im trying to change the timing belt on an ek with a d16y7. I rented this tool http://www.amazon.com/Powerbuilt-648.../dp/B0000TMLWQ and it just falls out of the hole everytime i start cranking at the bolt...I've searched and watched videos, im doing right! But the tool just falls out. I tried wedging it and it just slipped and cracked my pulley!!
Air tools aren't an option, should i have a shop put the belt back on?? How much would that cost? There is a almost new belt on, i just slipped it of after setting the engine to tdc when i was changing the headgasket, and when i went to slip the belt back on i pulled on it and spun the crank...now the timing is jacked and i cant get the bolt off to fix it....
Maybe the crank pulley had a hairline crack in it before you tried to remove the bolt. Soak the bolt in PB Blaster overnight and then rent the most powerful electric impact gun you can get your hands on. You'll need to replace the crank pulley once it's off. Scout some salvage yards.

I also sprayed the bolt many times with PB Blaster, but it came off without much headache. I had to set the pivot point of the wrench on something solid and level with the pulley bolt (tool box + Helm Manual (another great use)), and wedged the pulley holder/ratchet as pictured.
I had my "200 ft-lb" Goodyear electric 1/2" impact wrench, but didn't even try it...
Thus, I was able to change my timing belt (and other associated items) with all hand tools!!

GL2U, hope this helps.

These bolts are well known to be a absolute pain in the ***.
I will be the first person to say, that tool sucks!! I had a hell of time using it.
Air tools are usually required when doing something like this. It has been said it can upwards of 1100 lbs of break away torque to do this.
As RonJ, said rent the biggest tool you can get. OR, a breaker bar, with 5+ ft cheater pipe on it and go to town. IF possible, maybe take it to a shop and have them pop it, and just tighten it enough for you to get it home.

I was able to crack it loose with a 250 ft-lb 1/2" Torque wrench and 20" extension...
