Made a mistake it seems, and picked up a obd2 d15b vtec, thinking that this was a direct replacement for a y8. will this engine run using a y8 ecu? locating the proper p2j ecu looks like it may take awhile and i need to use the car asap.

 

I just did this and had to end up using my y8 head to make it a lot easier.

 

Where did u order the motor and was sured it was a direct replacement?

 

yeah i am thinking i may try to return it or see if they can get me an ecu

 

looks like the engine importer is going to supply me with the proper ecu, my question now is what changes will have to be made to my stock lx. and does anyone sell a subharness for this particular application?

 

Yea you'd have to find the jdm harness for the 3 stage vtec or u might b able to run a wire to the certain pin in the ecu. I just did the Y8 head for convience
