So i noticed after i got a new muffler my car shoots thick black soot out of the muffler...my question is , has anyone ever experienced this? im thinking its coming from my cat.. or maybe its the muffler? its not oil for sure..its dry..

 

happens to my friends rex...its burning oil and probibly a lil rich...clean the sensors that measure air or check compression and see whats up

 

it is running rich. i thought it was because im using a pr4 on a single cam. ill clean the map maf and o2 to see whats up

 

ya, that's what i was gonna say, runnin rich. i had a hole in the vac line to my fuel press regulator and mine was blowing black stuff out like it was a diesel! lol and was only getting like 7 miles per gal. replaced that vac line, and all was good!

 

Pcv wasn't connected to the black box either lol
