2002 TL Will Not Crank After Sitting For 4+ Months
I have an Acura TL 2002 that will not start after it sat in my yard for a few months without cranking ( I know I know ).. It always started fine before when I made sure the battery was charged. Anyway this time nada. I used some starter fluid and sprayed the intake and it fires just fine, cranks, idles for a few seconds (roughly of course) then dies.
My suspicion is fuel, either bad gas (it is old) or fuel pump stuck. If it is the latter how is the best way to ensure I have pressure since it does not have a fuel gauge and to un-stick the pump?
Thanks,
Dale

Hi
Does it Crank and not Start? If it's cranking that's great, the batt/starter are working normally. If you get it to idle give it some gas and see if the engine stays on. Bad gas could be a culprit but would cause misfires more than anything else.
Easiest way to clear the tank is to disconnect the ground on the starter, keep the battery boosted and turn the key so that the fuel pump just keeps pumping that fuel out until it's empty. Then you can fill the tank again with some premium to clean out any bad gas in there.
4 months in someone's yard could mean some vermin have been in there. Check to make sure the air filter is clean of any nests and no wires have been eaten.
I'm in the NJ/NY area and have had cars come in with rats chewing on the wires. Anything is possible
