Alright so my LS swap hasnt started in the last 2 years. it only ran once but poorly and that was about 6 months ago. i did the mpfi swap myself and triple checked wiring. getting no spark but it slightly smells like gas when i try to start it. timing is good, tried a different distributor and ecu with no success. any suggestions? thanks

 

I did the same thing but the only way mine will start is if one of the white wires from the dizzy is unhooked. But it will start for a second if they are both hooked up.

 

did you check to make sure your firing order and your plug wire arrangement are correct?
are you sure the injectors are good?

If you have a leaking injector its going to wash the cylinder wall down and you will most likely lose compression. causing a dead miss.
or you could have an injector that isn't pulsing or it is being pulsed but isn't opening.

what else have you checked?

 

alright so i know its getting gas and has compression. the problem is that i dont have any spark and im %100 sure on the wiring. im thinking now that it might be a loose ecu clip since it only gets spark every once in a while and the fact that it has run before. thanks for the suggestions guys

obd0 or 1????
check for bad main relay and def. check the ecm. had almost the same prob ended up being a dead wire to the crank angle in the dizz. (orng/wht) or blu.yell/blu.grn obd1
but be very open to EVERYTHING check all the wires (clips) underdash and make sure they are not plugged in backwards which is very eassy to do w obd0 good luck pleez keep us updated w your progress

 

obd0, already replaced the main relay with a new one. and i know that the wires arent dead or anything but i am suspecting something to do with the ecu plugs

 

okay good place to start but troubleshoot it man. i know your probily fed up with it but just continue to narrow your possibilities down, take notes draw pics whatever you got to do. go through every thing even if you woulkd never suspect it. now im ASSUMING that by every thing you said its either electrical or wiring so start it like writing an essay (one end to the other) start with the engine bay and an ohmmeter check ur grounds and work your way all the way to the ecm. and do the same fron underdash...

 

ya definitely frustrated with it but i know its possible to fix. but ya ive gone through a lot of wiring with an ohmmeter and not much luck. even pulled the dash out and check all that underdash wiring with still no luck. thanks for the help btw!

so new dizzy, new wires, checked wiring, firing order, ecu? does it even crank or turn when you try to start? or do you even hear your fuel pump turn on when you turn the key past accessory? and what year LS do you have installed?
