Default Hondata S300 Calibrations

I just got a P08 Ecu with S300 for when I supercharge my B16A Civic. I would like to try it out by downloading a base-map for my stock engine with I/E/H, MSD ignition, etc. The only Calibration for the B16A N/A is the P30 JDM B16A basemap. Does this mean it is for a P30 ECU with S300, or is it just a map of the P30 and it can be downloaded to any S300 ECU?

Ironically, The P30 is the stock ECU in my car.... I just want to mess with the Hondata a bit and check out the launch control, etc.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You can run the stock p30 calibration on a p28, p72, p30, p06 with vtec added etc.
If you run the p30 calibration on an ecu which does not have a knock board such as the p28, you will need to disable the knock sensor under the paremeters/misc tab.

Thanks.

I have already disabled the knock and O2 heater. I was thinking that I should switch the S300 over to the P30 that I have. Would that be a waste of time?

There would be really no point if it is working ok in the p08 ecu.

I downloaded the basemap, took a test drive as far as the gas station. Was idling a little high(1100 rpm) but seemed to run ok. Shut the car off for fueling and when I got going again the car hesitated at around 3400 rpm, almost like the rev limiter was engaging. Could I lose the basemap just by shutting the car off?

Obviously, this is beyond my ability. I think I'm going to find a tuner.

No, you can't loose the basemap by shutting the car off.

A P08 uses the s300j

A P30 uses the s300

You cannot swap it from one to the other as it will not fit.

I assumed he had a jdm p30.

There is such a thing as a usdm p30 ecu which uses the s300j too :-)

if the knock sensor isnt disabled would that cause the s300 to shut off and not start back up?

The only time you would experience a problem with the knock sensor not being disabled is if you don't have an ecu with a knock board or a knock sensor wired up to the ecu etc.
