Okay, I currently have a 96 Honda Del Sol. It is using an eclipse turbo and I have piston rings starting to go after about 2 years of boosting. Since they are going bad, I am going to pull the motor rebuild it bottom up and push probably 15-20psi. I purchased the car over a year ago with a megasquirt ecu, my question is should I stick with the megasquirt so I don't have to purchase a new ECU and rewire it all, or go to another standalone. I haven't had any problems with my megasquirt ECU, just an idea I have been throwing around, but I am not sure it is worth the $450 to switch to a Hondata Standalone.

Also I am running stock eclipse injectors, will they handle 20psi safely? I have a Walboro 250, AEM high flow rail, and AEM adjustable regulator. Or should I take the plunge and buy some precision 1000cc injectors(I plan to run more boost in the future) and just tune em down some?

 

For 20 psi on the DSM turbo you will need much larger injectors. I'd say go with the Precision of ID 1000cc. If the megasquirt setup is running decent, then just leave it for the time being until you can upgrade to S300 or Neptune

 

I didn't specify my turbo choice, I am swapping turbos to a t3/t4, none-the-less I believe I should upgrade injectors. If the Megasquirt is working fine, will I gain anything by switching to a Hondata?

I do agree as well the S300 has much better features than mega squirt and is worth the invesment.

 

I loved the hondata s300....far as injectors I would go with the bosch dynamics... they are awesome... easy to tune and they flow like garden hoses if u need it

 

Another option than the S300 is Neptune RTP/Demon. It has all of the same features as the S300 and then some. Offers PWM boost per gear, individual gear rev limits, advanced injector sizing/control, etc.. And around $100 cheaper I am in no way saying there's anything wrong with the Hondata S300, just saying the Neptune RTP/Demon setup has some additional features and may be more cost effective for you..

After some further investigation, I believe I am going to ditch the megasquirt and go to Ectune, a guy near me can tune it, and my buddy just got his b-series hatch tuned with it pushing 30psi and no problems and easy to tune and has all the features and then some.

What exactly is full throttle shifting?

 

Also what's going to be the main difference in the Precisions and the Injector Dynamics?

 

I ran 18psi on hondata s200 and dsm injectors with the box, I say s300 which is awesome and rc injectors, for some reason rc and hondata go together well and they are advertised all over the hondata website. also consider msd injectors, my buddy has nothing but good things to say about them.

 

I think I am going to run Ectune, as it has the same features and then some as an s300 and someone close to me that tunes it. As far as injectors still unsure.
