I have a 89 CRX DX with a 88' SI tranny, will for a little bit now its been popping out of 1st and 2nd gear randomly at low speeds, i was wondering if that could be the syncros are bad? Would it be best to take the tranny out and take a look and if it is bad replace or just get a whole new tranny?

 

depends on whether you appreciate the journey or just want to get to the destination. The tranny needs to come out. If you don't care to learn about the innards then replace it. otherwise open it up and enjoy.

As for the exact reason for your problem idk, I am learning myself. it is safe to say that it has to come out though
