Default Lean idle, fouled plugs

Setup:
B16a with 1000cc injectors
Innovate LC1 wideband
Neptune RTP

Problem:
I'm new to tuning so please bear with me. I am running a base map created by the neptune wizard and had to cut cranking fuel and post start fuel to get car to start. Idle is very delicate and has to be babied for a bit to hold steady. My wideband reads a 20+ afr but my plugs indicate a rich mixture and are fouling out and missing after running for a bit. My theory is that the cylinders are flooding out, resulting in an incomplete burn thus resulting in my wideband reading a false lean condition. Does this sound plausible? Typical?

Thanks for any help.

Sam

Why do you have 1000cc injectors on a b16?

More info on the motor setup would help.

Is your wideband wired up correctly?

I have 1000cc injectors because I have an SC61 bolted to the front. I didn't think that was pertinent to my idle. It also has a 9:1 compression ratio.

The wideband is wired correctly. I have tried getting readings from the serial port as well as through the ECU. I performed a free air cal a week before I installed it. Readings drop to 12-14 afr when I rev it above ~2k.

Have you tried adding fuel? It's not ideal to add fuel or subtract fuel when the car is cold but you can try. Or it could possibly be something else.

I have tried to add fuel but no effect. Why would I want to add fuel when I am fouling my plugs? Basically my question is in regards to O2 sensor operation.

My theory is that the cylinders are flooding out, resulting in an incomplete burn thus resulting in my wideband reading a false lean condition. Does this sound plausible? Typical?

If you're fouling out then your wideband o2 sensor is not reading correctly. I'm just saying trying adding or subtracting fuel to see if there is any difference in your wideband readings.

Got some useful insight on pgmfi. I think I *may* have a ground offset issue. I'll check that out and report back.

are you using the correct battery offsets for the injectors? I would start with a fresh basemap and dont touch the cranking fuel or post start. If the car does not start add 20 to the overall trim if it starts adjust from there if not try removing 10-20, I have had to go up to 50-80 before to get a car to start.

It starts fine now and it runs with some babying (no tuning at all just basemap from the wizard). The issue is the wild O2 reading not matching what I'm seeing.

Is your wideband offset correct?

My tuner said to do a heater calibration. I only did a free air calibration so we'll see what sort of results I get from that too. If the injectors are putting out too much fuel, I think that the results would be shown through my laptop when the car is running so I think battery offsets aren't the root cause.

What does you laptop use to monitor AFR's? Your wideband and what else? If your wideband isn't working are you basing your lean AFR's from, a narrow band O2 signal or something else? What do your plugs look like, can you post up a few pics?

Problem solved. I did a bunch of stuff but issue is gone. I think root cause was that it actually WAS super lean and I had to add like 35% in fuel. I simply don't have the experience to recognize the symptoms of a lean condition, I guess. Thanks for all the help.
