hey guys i recently just put my b20z back together and realized that i put the wrong head gasket on it...it was 84mm b20vtec gasket made by felpro. i tried starting it up and i found coolant in my oil and was wondering if i put the correct b20 non vtec head gasket back on will the coolant in my oil disappear? i will be flushing my oil out properly and putting fresh oil in and new plugs of course..... anyone know the difference between non-vtec and vtec head gaskets? any help would be greatly appreciated as i am doing my head gasket tomorrow....i know i sound stupid posting about this but i didnt realize i had the wrong gasket till i put the engine back together.

its the wrong head gasket because i was going b20vtec and asked for an 84mm head gasket to use with my b16 head at the time but i now am going b20 non vtec and used the wrong HG. my head isnt warped and im going to be using an oem b20 gasket this time and figure it out
I'm confused with what you just said. You're suppose to use the 84mm headgasket even if you have a b16 head, that's a b20vtec.
If you're going back to just a b20 then a simple b20 headgasket is what you need.
Even if you build a b20vtec you can use a stock b20 headgasket. All b20 headgaskets are 84mm.

yes i did attempt to start it with the coolant in my cylinders which i forgot about till i remebered it was in my oil. but now my oil is coolant free and i wil try starting it this weekend and it should be fine. cuz i know that the coolant in the oil makes it not start up, soaking the spark plugs making them have no spark whatsoever..... and is just a bad thing from the get go.

so guys finally got my engine started up today...it throws CEL: code 5 which is the map (manifo0ld absolute pressure) so it runs kinda choppy and bad idle, i will be getting anew map sensor for it to fix my probelm there. anyways i do have a leak outta my intake manifold, which worries me so i dont know why it would be doing this. its a b20 intake mani so everything matches up great and fits great just dont understand why id be leaking coolant from my manifold. let me know if anyone has any input on my problems im curently having. any help would be much appreciated.

so i torqued my intake bolts down to 17ft. pounds and so far no leaks yet im praying it doesnt come back. and i ordered an new MAP sensor and TPS just for the hell of it to make sure all my sensors are updated. im hoping that gets rid of my check engine light and my crappy idle and hesitation
What it does do is kill the detergents in oil.

yeah man im gunna replace it with a used map sensor but i know it works so it should work for my ride....and i drove my car around the block and its hesitant to go past 3500rpm and it runs like **** and bucking like a bull. so as soon as i get my sensor on it ill reset the ecu and take it from there.....

also make sure you didnt hook up your tps, map sensor plugs backwards, done that before on my old DA b16a and car ran like ****, but only got code for map, not tps
