hahaha.....
me and one of my buddies picked up a go-kart on the side of the road like 5 years ago and beat the absolute **** out of it.... rolled it, broke it, flooded it, broke it....... so this past weekend we were at Harbor Freight (if u havent gone ur f'in missin out) and found a bunch of motors for sale CHEAPPP...we ended up getting a 6.5 horsepower 8.3 ft/lbs tq engine for $80!!!!
So we got all greened up and thought...... its time to tackle the beast.....
so we took the old frame that was red and gray and cleaned it up a bit....sanded a bunch of it down....got some fresh paint and went to town....a few decals, a few accents with color....and i think it looks much much better....getting new wheels and tires from Harbor Freight for about $30 for all 4 wheels! EVEN OFFSET FRONT AND BACK! GRRRRR....GET SOME.....
Well.....anyway...its not a Honda, but its a build, and its the RAT KART.....
CHECK IT OUT!!
BEFORE!!!

AFTER!!!!!

Hope you bought that extended replacement plan, if you plan on ragging on that motor. I've seen one comeback after it caught on fire. SMH.

this is awesome haha, I always wondered how those harbor freight motors hold up, let us know.
Did you reuse the centrifugal clutch or buy a new one?

So it took u s alittle while and some (rare) free time to figure this thing out but we had to re-wire the throttle so that with would spring back once we let off the pedal. Had to custom make a bracket and lift the gas tank.....
Once we did that, she was ready to rock! Took her down the street and past the police radar on the road and she clocked 46 and 48 mph......the thing f'in mooooves man....
but then we came upon the brain teaser!! The motor was dying when ever we tried to make any kind of right turns!!! left, straight, hard lefts...all good....but as soon as you turned right at anything more than slow speed, she died right out.....
I did some research and figured out that the oil pressure safety switch was killing the motor because the oil was all moving to the left of the motor and away from the sensor on the right.
We bypassed the oil sensor, re-wired a new kill switch, GOT THE SEAT WRAPPED ITR THEME!!! hahaha....and shes ready to rock....
ill post some finished pictures and hopefully a video of her cruising soon!
