Kings Performance Street S2king S2000 runs 9's
We can not be more happy with the results of this past crazy weekend @ the 2nd NSCRA event @ Palm beach International, FL.
This has been a long project that we have been working on testing & trying new things. We've change little things here and there to try to make the car as fast as posible without having to sacrifice the drivability of the car for the street.
This is a funny story!
We've been having problems with the tail housing of the tranny. Everytime we would put the car on the dyno and make some good hp the tail case will cracked, so we have been trying to find the solution and thank god for my best friend Jose "Pepo" Besosa from Red Star Motoring that was here working with us last week on getting the car ready for the Event. He was able to find the fix to my problem! Wooohooo
Well, we put the tranny back on the car Thursday night and went to bleed the clutch and one of the braided clutch line of the hydraulic bearing started leaking
Our tuner Omar Crespo @ Area51 Tuned was leaving Friday @ 7am to Jamaica to tuned some cars of the cars of the Carribean Time Attack tour. We had no time for him to put it on the dyno and finish the tuning we had started before. Because of the tranny problems we had to stopped @ 20psi. Omar left Friday morning to Jamaica & forgot to give me the password to the AEM V2
So when we do finish the car on Friday and Pepo & I decide to go to the dyno, we remember about NOT having the password
. With the luck I have the boost controller is with the AEM, so we couldn't do anything & Omar had no phone in Jamaica. Pepo looks @ me and says "Let's go old school & use a manual boost controller" and I started laughing.... Oh well, we want to go racing so lets do it. Thanks to AEM for making the boost compensation & Omar for using it, we were able to raise the boost without having to touch the ecu. Hahahaha
1st pass @ 20psi made 610whp, 2nd pass @ 25psi 680whp & 3rd pass @ 28psi 755whp and Pepo said that all I need to go 9's!
We get to the track on Sunday & off the trailer the car goes 10.2 @ 142mph w/ 1.87 on the 60's. I'm all happy and when he gets back he tells me "We have a problem" and I was like what? He says with a sad face: The car will not make it to the finish line
The rev limiter is too low (9,000rpm). The car is hitting the rev limiter like 50-70 feet before the finish line. We both look @ each other & go back to thinking: "Omar is not here & we don't have the password, so we can not access or change anything on the AEM". LOL
The only thing we could do is play around with the tire pressure
We ran the entire event hitting the rev limiter before the finish line.
1st pass: 10.2 @ 142mph
2nd pass: 10.0 @ 142mph
3rd pass: 9.9 @ 142mph

Congrats guys!!!
We were doing the same thing -- bangin the limiter in 4th through the traps.
What is the drivetrain setup? Stock gears?
