It's too bad those profiting off of content provided to their site for free don't appreciate the service.

Add this to the to-do list
Is it any easier to access the rack adjustment bolt on the 5th gen rack?

If you're talking about the "rack guide" adjustment, then I don't think it's located any more conveniently than the 4th gen's. At the very least you can remove the whole rack by pulling the tie rods, the UVJ and 8 bolts and the rack'll fall out. As is usual after you do something once or twice it gets faster and easier to complete the next time.

I need new inner tie rod ends, and I figure the chances are pretty good of a junkyard selling me the rack for the same $80+ as the new tie rods would cost from Honda.
+1 on knowing the weight difference?

Yeah, I really should. It's now getting front carpet and I put some interior panels back in, but it should still be around 2100-2200.
We recently compared the acceleration to a 4G VTEC and it was significantly better despite any real engine work. It had to be the lightness

this is good info to have. thanks for the tips. any chance on doing the rear swap? i would imagine they would be the same as well, but i have been wrong before.
The front-most cross beam and the rear beam are identical on NON-4WS 4th gens and 5th gens, according to part numbers. The one he cheanged in this write-up was the only one that differed. (I didn't check SH 5th gens, for the record)
cool story bro. I didnt know the 5th gen rack was lighter. I would have figured it was heavier. thanks for the article.
