97 prelude- head problem
I have a 97 prelude which i took in to a shop to have the head repaired after the timing belt disintegrated on me. The mechanic said it needed 2 valves replaced so he sent it to the machine shop. I picked up the car 3 weeks ago and sounds awful as if the valves and the lifters were all loose so i took it back and the mechanic told me the car was fine and the noise was all due to the nature of the repair. I paid 2 grand- what should i do?
I have a resurfaced 97 H22A4 head with new valves, valve stem seals, valve springs, retainers and comes with cams. 0 miles on head since rebuild. Cams and head had 70k before everything was done. Also have a head gasket kit for 350.00+shipping.

The machine shop wont set the valve lash, check it. Next time change your timing belt when you are supposed to, they usually last longer than the time that Honda gives for them.

dude sounds pretty shady
I would say valve lash or he left a bent valve or two still in. I had the same issues with a 90 prelude and came to find out that the guy replaced about 10 valves and left one in that had a little bend to it. Sounded like the car never had oil.
