Vibration between 40-60MPH
I bought my son a 1995 Accord EX. When holding steady speed between 40-60mph i get a vibration. If i shift down to d3 it goes away. Does not occur at higher speeds, even with cruise on. Any assist would be appreciated.
I have a similar vibration and it only happens when I hold the speed at 40. Mine sounds like it's coming from inside the engine but I don't have a cels. Can you feel it in the steering wheel? I feel mine in the accelerator.
Mine feels like its coming from engine/tranny also.

My '93 Accord has similar problem at slower speeds up to 40 mph, most noticeable 30-40 mph. Tires are only about 6 months old, so I don't think that's the problem. EGR, Differential, Transmission? Any thoughts would be most appreciate.
@poorman, at 40, the rpm band is between 1500-1800. What cleaning agent to use on the egr? When removed from the fuel rail, are there any gaskets to keep teack of? Also, is there any noise/indicators for bad wheel bearings?
75aces- There is a write up in the FAQ that will help you. There is a gasket (EGR chamber)...is yours a 4 or 6, can't remember.
Have the tires rotated and balanced. Pull the front tires and check the bearings.
You said you feel it in the accel, that is why I was going there......

I had this problem on another vehicle and was pulling my hair out trying to find a solution. It turned out that one of the rims was bent but so slightly that the human eye could not detect it. Only when I used a dial gauge did I see that the rim was bent but a few thousands of an inch. I replaced the rim and the problem is gone.
@poorman, I have a 4cylinder. I had the tires balanced and rotated. The vibration only occurs at 40. For some reason it's only at 40, not before or after. Still trying to find the egr on the fuel rail, but I have no idea of what it looks like.
The valve is at the back, dist end.
The port chamber is "under" the fuel rail.

@firsbee, the vibrations aren't in the steering wheel. It occurs while accelerating from a dead stop. I had the tires balanced and rotated. If i recall, the cv joints will vibrate heavily closer to 70. I don't have that issue.
Is it a vibration or a shudder? A shudder during acceleration can be caused by a worn inner CV joint, which means replacing the axle. A vibration that happens at different speeds can also be from a bad axle.
